Grammar Schools in Medway
Medway runs its own selection test, separate from the neighbouring Kent Test, for all six of its grammar schools. The papers are written specifically for Medway Council by GL Assessment.

What families in Medway need to know
- Format: English (30 minutes), maths (50 minutes) and reasoning (45 minutes, covering spatial, non-verbal and verbal). Standardised English and maths are double-weighted; reasoning counts once.
- The qualifying score is set at the 25th percentile of the Medway Year 6 cohort, so the pass mark moves with the cohort rather than being fixed.
- Medway awarded a new test contract in November 2025 to Renaissance Learning UK Ltd — this is GL Assessment's UK legal entity, not a change of provider.
