11+ & Junior Scholarship Mastery
Focused maths preparation for competitive 11+ entry and academic scholarships to grammar and independent schools.
Why students struggle at this level.
- Untested at the top: bright children who find school maths easy and have never been asked a genuinely hard question.
- The last section: papers at schools like Sevenoaks and St Paul's Juniors end with questions no primary curriculum teaches.
- Speed and accuracy together: long multi-step problems that have to be right first time, under the clock.
- Giving up too early: children who are fine with familiar sums but freeze when a question looks unfamiliar.
- Wordy questions: simple maths buried in a paragraph of confusing language.
How we secure top grades.
- Teaching the thinking: we show children how these papers are built, so an unfamiliar question becomes a set of steps rather than a wall.
- Faster mental maths: quicker, more reliable arithmetic, which leaves more time for the hard reasoning questions at the end.
- Shape and space: building the spatial thinking that the harder geometry questions rely on.
- Getting ready for Year 7: bridging into the algebra that secondary school expects from day one.
More Than Just Tutoring
A holistic approach designed for high performance.
Thinking Like a Mathematician
We use Junior Olympiad problems to teach children how to attack a question they have never seen before. That is the skill the hardest scholarship papers are really testing.
Finding the Lost Marks
We mark mock papers properly and look at where the marks actually went. Most children lose more to rushed slips than to topics they do not know.
Progress They Can See
Students work through our scholarship curriculum on the portal and earn badges as they clear each hard topic, so progress is visible to them and to you.

Common Questions
Why do you only teach maths?
Because it is what we are good at. At the most competitive schools the maths paper is often what separates candidates, and we would rather go deep on one subject than cover four of them thinly.
Which 11+ tests do you prepare for?
GL Assessment papers, the ISEB Common Pre-Test, and the school-set papers used by independent schools. CEM is worth a note: it stopped supplying most grammar schools in 2023 and has since been rebranded as Cambridge Insight, so almost every area now uses GL or its own paper. Our grammar school directory lists what each area actually sets.
Is this suitable for every 11+ candidate?
It is built for children aiming at the most competitive grammar and independent schools, including scholarship papers. If your child needs to build confidence with the basics first, say so when you get in touch and we will tell you honestly whether this is the right starting point.
How do you keep a ten year old motivated?
With something concrete. Students who complete three questions a day for three weeks on the portal earn a £20 Amazon voucher through the Habit Hero Challenge. Three questions is small enough that nobody can claim they had no time, and three weeks is long enough for it to become a habit.
Do you provide mock exams?
Yes. We use past papers from the schools our students are actually applying to, marked and timed properly, so the real thing is not the first time they have sat one.
