The GG Maths path

From Year 5 to university, with one team.

Most tutoring stops and starts. At GG Maths each stage hands over to the next, and your child's work, lesson notes and marking stay in one place.

Five stages, one team

Your child can join at any stage. Each one leads into the next.

  1. Years 4 to 6

    Foundations and 11+

Faster, more reliable mental maths and long word problems, for grammar school and scholarship papers. It includes a bridge into the algebra secondary school expects from day one.

    Who teaches

    • A GG Maths tutor

    Planned handover After the 11+

  2. Years 7 to 9

    Junior Elite

Keeping the habit and the foundations solid, so GCSE starts from strength rather than catch-up. Students who are ready can go faster.

    Who teaches

    • A GG Maths tutor
  3. Years 10 and 11

    GCSE

Both tiers: securing a grade 4 or 5, or pushing for grades 8 and 9 on Higher, with the exam technique to match.

    Who teaches

    • A GG Maths tutor
    • Or Giuliano, for students aiming at a grade 9

Planned handover From Year 11 to Year 12

  4. Years 12 and 13

    A-Level and Further Maths

Closing the gaps GCSE leaves, then the harder topics, Further Maths included.

    Who teaches

    • A GG Maths tutor
    • Or Giuliano, for students aiming at an A or A*
  5. University entrance

TMUA, STEP, ESAT maths and Oxbridge interviews

The admissions tests for maths and related courses at Oxford, Cambridge, Imperial and others. Year 12 is the time to start.

    Who teaches

    • Giuliano himself

Giuliano takes a small number of students. Students move to him when he has space, and current GG students come first.

Where families usually stop

Tutoring usually ends at one of two moments. Both are planned for here, so your child doesn't start again with a stranger.

After the 11+

The 11+ lessons already bridge into the algebra secondary school expects from day one. Every GG Maths tutor teaches Years 7 to 9 too, so Year 7 can carry on with the tutor your child already knows.

From Year 11 to Year 12

We plan the A-Level start before the GCSE exams finish, so the summer isn't a gap. Most of our tutors teach A-Level too, and Year 12 starts by closing the gaps GCSE leaves.

What stays the same at every handover

  • The portal. Every piece of work your child uploads, and every note their tutor writes after a lesson, stays in one place.
  • Giuliano. He can read all of it, whoever is teaching.
  • The method. Every tutor is picked and trained by Giuliano before their first lesson, in the rules he teaches by himself.

Families who stayed

In their own words, from our Google reviews.

Over the two years, our son’s ability, determination and confidence grew beyond our expectations, allowing him to dare to aim high and win a place at Bristol to study Economics. Our younger son now also studies with him for completely different reasons and with completely different needs.

Claire Peposhi, parent

Giuliano has been tutoring our children in math for years now, and he's been a real gem.

Aurelie “Lili” Parnes, parent

Giuliano has been tutoring me and my sister for the past 6 years and has in all honesty been incredible.

Avi Allon, student

And one student's story on video: three years with us, from a grade 4 at GCSE to an A* at A-Level.

GCSE to A-Level
I started Year 11 at a Grade 4 and finished Year 13 with an A* in A-Level Maths. While peers with 8s or 9s at GCSE struggled with the A-Level jump, our strategy transformed everything.
