Enfield

The Latymer School entrance examination

  • The Latymer School in Edmonton is the nearest grammar school to Southgate, and the only one in Enfield.
  • For the round currently open, the maths and verbal reasoning paper is set and scored by GL Assessment. Test dates: 3, 4 and 5 September 2026.
  • A move to Quest Assessments has been announced — dropping verbal reasoning, adding a writing paper. The changeover year is not yet clear from the school's own pages, so confirm it with Latymer admissions before buying practice material.

Barnet

Three schools, three separate tests

  • Barnet has no borough-wide 11+. Henrietta Barnett, Queen Elizabeth's and St Michael's each run their own process — applying to more than one means separate registrations and separate sittings.
  • Henrietta Barnett uses GL Assessment for its first round. The other two do not publish their provider, which makes generic practice material a gamble.
  • Deadlines differ by months between the three. Missing one does not affect the others, but it is the most common avoidable mistake we see.
